I founded North 100 Design & Training in January of 2000 in Moretown, part of the beautiful Mad River Valley in Central Vermont. Living and working in Vermont has been a dream come true. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, which I loved, but I always longed for the natural beauty and green mountains of Vermont.
Just as I was finishing my degree in English I was introduced to one of the very first Macintosh computers. Owner/FounderCMS/CSS/PHP Web Specialist; Applications Instructor; Print Specialist; Social Media Consultant; Small Business Consultant. It was love at first site and quickly established me in the computer graphic arts industry: as a graphic artist, an Adobe® applications tester and demonstrator, an art director, and systems administrator. I used to travel quite extensively throughout the US and British Columbia — providing technical instruction on Adobe® apps, desktop publishing, and computer-to-plate technologies.
For the past 15 years I've been specializing in web development and design. Once I experienced instant publishing, I was forever hooked! I love its architecture and how it builds on both the technical aspects and the aesthetics to create an inviting but functional space.
The technologies and applications that emerge in this ever-changing field excites me. I love breaking them down and making them accessible and affordable to my clients. But I haven't forgotten about my roots in publishing & print and still enjoy working in those mediums.
These past few years I've delved into social networking and marketing. It's an exciting arena ripe with opportunity and so refreshing. To be able to easily network, connect, and build your own community - real community - in such an enjoyable, natural way is priceless. There's no other avenue like it and I encourage every site owner to explore and participate.
I'm a very lucky mom to two girls and married for 21 years to Tom who is now my business partner and collaborator. In the summer, when I'm not at my computer, you'll find me planting vegetables in the garden and enjoying a swim or kayak run in the Mad River right out our back door. Amateur photography, drawing, writing an occasional haiku, baking breads, and cooking up fresh local foods feed my other creative outlets. And I'm always up for a competitive game of ping pong!
