Born and raised on Long Island, N.Y., I began my career in design over 25 years ago. I studied commercial art and traditional illustrating. In the early 1980s I was given the opportunity to learn and operate a Macintosh computer and I never looked back. I knew that one way or another, this was where my future was headed. Since then I've worked as a Web programmer and designer, print designer, systems and network administrator, book production manager, webmaster and creative director for a popular online Apple reseller.
PartnerApplications Instructor; Illustrator; Print Specialist; Technical Consultant; Apple® Certified Technician; Quark® Authorized TrainerI began my career working in prepress, using traditional pasteup methods until the advent of the Macintosh. I also worked professionally as a trainer, traveling all over the U.S. and Canada training on applications such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Quark. I am also a Quark® Authorized Trainer and Apple® Certified Technician.
My experience eventually led me from my native Long Island to Pennsylvania to work for North Market Street Graphics, a premiere prepress house for publishers such as Random House, Knopf, and McGraw-Hill, to name just a few. At North Market, I was the Systems Administrator managing a network of over 70 nodes. I worked as the technical advisor to the company and was sometimes "lent out" to Random House and other publishers to advise them in their own technological advancements. My responsibilities included upgrading the company's entire network, the installation and maintenance of a clustered Windows DEC Alpha server, and all troubleshooting in regards to software and hardware.
For most of my life I've had my sights on living and working in Vermont. This was a lifelong dream that was also shared by my wife and business partner, Lo. Being sparsely populated, Vermont is not an easy place to relocate to, but we made it a goal and were fortunate enough to make it happen. Once settled in Vermont, I worked as the Creative Director for Small Dog Electronics, a well known and respected Apple online reseller. As well, I also worked as the production manager for Inner Traditions publishing, one of the largest publishers of esoteric books in the country.
You may also find me sometimes teaching classes on Adobe Photoshop®, InDesign® and other programs in a small classroom setting at the Helen Day Art Center in Stowe, Vermont.
When not working on design projects, I can sometimes be found biking the Stowe Bike path in Stowe Vermont, often in the company of my eldest daughter, Zuzu.
